About Ordering

Please

READ

Fully

Hey! Before placing an order, please read all the following stipulations carefully as there will be no wiggle room for reasons beyond my control. Thanks in advance for your understanding and support by buying Dog House products!

  • Each item is made-to-order for you specifically. I don’t have a gigantic warehouse full of inventory I can swap out if you order the wrong size. See below about why this is.

  • I utilize Printful for the Dog House Shop. Is it perfect? Definitely not! Is it accessible for an independent shop with very little start-up capital? Very. Because each garment you order is made for you, expect a 1-week lead time before the item ships.

Everything is dropshipped, meaning I don’t see it before it goes from the factory to your front door. if you have a problem with your order, see below section “On Printing Errors”

  • Rest assured, if your garment has a printing error (as in: wrong item, wrong size was sent, design printed incorrectly, quality of print is subpar, etc.) then please reach out so we can get you the right one asap. If the error is undeniably 100% on the manufacturer and not on you or me, I will fight to get you your replacement as quickly and easily as possible at no extra charge to you.

The few times I’ve had to order a reprint, my supplier was pretty awesome to work with, so I am confident we’ll get you sorted out with ease (should an error happen, which is uncommon).

  • This ain’t Amazon Prime; do not expect a 2 day turnaround on your order. Most orders take 7-10 days to produce and then another 3-5 to ship to you; depending on how far your address is from the facility where your item was produced. Different items may be produced in different locations (despite being part of the same order). Please expect this. Do not order Dog House products if you are unable to wait.

The best thing to do is order it + forget that you did. When it arrives, it will be a much more pleasant experience than growing increasingly frustrated at how long your order takes to get to you.

  • Here’s some good news: I don’t sell a single thing I don’t own (some version of) myself. I’ve personally tried on everything and ensured it’s met my product-quality standards. There’s plenty of products I’ve ordered that were close-but-not-quite, and will never make it to the shop as a result.

I stand behind everything I sell. I’ll try to give an indication if the size is true-to-size, small, or oversized so you can order the right one. This is the least I can do given the no-refunds policy.

Despite the mixed reviews that print-on-demand gets (I used to be one of those reviewers!), I can attest to longterm usage of these products. I’ve now got garments that are approaching a year old and still hold up. On the other hand, I’ve ordered from suppliers like Vistaprint and the shirt didn’t last 4 washes.

Everyone’s different, but I am confident these items are going to meet your standards. Again, will they be 100% perfect? Probably not. But we’re aiming for a solid 90% or more.

  • You’ll see some items labelled as “Classic” and some as “Premium”. This is done intentionally to denote quality. I offer “classic” quality items because it helps keep costs low(er). Premium items are consciously not-cheap, but they deserve the title they get. Something that’s only of a so-so quality will not get given the “Premium” label. Note that this is my own ranking system and not one provided to me by my manufacturer.

As I said, there are many items that I could sell that are subpar. I refuse to do so.

  • I’ve tried to keep costs as reasonable as I can while building in only a very humble profit margin for myself. Rest assured, the vast majority of the sale of your item goes directly to my supplier and not to me. I am definitely not setting up a clothing shop to make money. This is a labour of love and passion; little more.

If you super-want a Dog House item but can’t afford it, send me a message and I’ll see if I can offer you a discount code. I make no promises. I can’t do this for everyone.

Double-sided print items will cost more as they cost more for me to make. Don’t think this is me trying to profit off an opportunity. Once again, I am primarily just covering my cost and building a tiny bit of buffer.

Some 2XL and 3XL items will cost more. This, again, is how Printful does things. I’ve matched my prices to reflect that but usually I still try to absorb a bit of that cost to be as fair as I can to everyone. Once again, I’m really not doing this for any sort of financial gain. I don’t love the way this is, but without the risk of making $0 or negative money on the sale of these items, I have no choice but to match the increased cost with an increased price.
