Lord Jesus,

Thank you for Leo, the gift of his life,
and the joy that he brings.

Boldly we pray that you would open
his mind and his mouth to speak;

That he may find an easier path in life
by communicating verbally.

God,

We know you can do this;

We don’t expect you will do this;

But we ask you would do this.

Amen

Notes About Leo’s Liturgy

Thank you for agreeing to pray with us this year! If you are committed to praying with us, we ask that you pray this liturgy once a week (or more) for all of 2024.

If you are unfamiliar, praying a liturgy is easy. Read this prayer aloud as if talking to a friend.

We believe God hears us when we pray. We believe our relentless prayers have the power to change God’s mind.

However, we can’t hold God accountable for things He did not promise. “In this world you will have trouble,” Jesus says in John 16:33, so we know life may be unimaginably challenging at the best of times.

Leo may never speak. But! It doesn’t mean that we don’t work with him or faithfully pray over him anyways.

Even as we recognize life is full of difficulty, the rest of John 16:33 tells us Jesus’s encouraging words: “But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

We take refuge in knowing God loves Leo more than we ever could, and we know that one day all things will be made new in Christ.

Thank you for loving Leo with us, and for faithfully praying for him in 2024.
